2017 TAIL END OF THE COLD FRONT

latestHIM_irbig The low pressure area (LPA) in the Philippine Area of Responsibility dissipated 1100H 16 January 2017   but the tail-end of the cold front (TECF) is still affecting the country. The TECF brought heavy rains in the Visayas and   Mindanao. This caused moderate to occasionally heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms that triggered flooding in the affected areas.

In response to the effects of the TECF and the LPA the Philippine Government  responded through NDRRMC Response Pillar. NDRRMC Reponse Clusters were activated since 1700H 20 January 2017.

Seeing that the local government could manage the situation and the water in the flooded areas started to subside the Response Cluster was deactivated 1700H 21 Jan 2017.
